Iris Quesada, 14, in pink, walks next to Mayor John Bell through the Parade of Oars at the Fishermen's Memorial Saturday, August 23, 2003. The Parade of Oars is a new tradition. Each oar represents every fishing boat that has sailed out of Gloucester harbors. Quesada is one of three Gloucester high school students who won a savings bond for the best essay about why an annual fishermen's memorial is important to the community.
