Red Roof, a waterfront Eastern Point summer cottage of A. Piatt Andrew, was just torn down, but parts of it are being preserved, including the "great room," at far right, a decorative fireplace that was in the home's parlor, left, and a sculpture. Mark Pellegrini, center front, and Jim McGonogile of Carpenter & MacNeille Architects & Builders, Inc. of Essex build a protective cover over the fireplace on Wednesday in advance of a coming snowstorm.
