The boat Reasons, owned by Gloucester resident Fred Bevins, struck and killed David Walsh of South Dartmouth, who was in a sailboat, in Buzzards Bay during July 2008. Yesterday, Bevins pleaded guilty to negligent operation of a vessel, death involved, and was given a one-year suspended sentence and 10 years probation. Mike Valeri/ New Bedford Standard-Times
