Innkeeper offers place today to get out of cold

By Times Staff Gloucester Daily Times The Gloucester Daily Times Thu Jan 24, 2013, 02:31 PM EST

Call this local innkeeper a good Samaritan.

Brad Pierce, owner of Cape Ann Motor Inn at 33 Rockport Road in Gloucester, has offered up free rooms during the cold weather today for anyone who needs shelter out of the window and below freezing temperatures.

Pierce notified police of the open offer Thursday morning.

Update: Plum Island house collapses, more homes in peril

NEWBURY -- High tide this morning has claimed another Annapolis Way house on Plum Island.

Reports from the scene say the house toppled from the brunt of the raging sea soon after 8:30 a.m. as high tide hit.
