Charter trustees cancel meeting slated for today

The Gloucester Community Arts Charter School’s trustees have cancelled their meeting proposed for noon today.

James Caviston, chairman of the school’s Board of Trustees, said the meeting wasn’t needed. The board had called the meeting to approve the school’s annual report, but that document apparently doesn’t require the trustees approval, Caviston said, so the board cancelled the meeting.

“The whole premise of the meeting was to approve the annual report,” Caviston said.

That report, along with the school’s accountability plan, enrollment plan, and budget for the new school year will be sent to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education later today. Aug, 1 is the deadline for those documents.
