Gloucester's PACE names nutritionist
Elder Service Plan of the North Shore, Inc., a member of the non-profit, national organization PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) has announced the addition of Alyse Serrin to their team.
A Gloucester resident, Serrin's role is in the Dietary Nutritional Department at the PACE day center, located in Gloucester at 29A Emerson Ave.
Serrin says she is "excited to be working in her hometown serving the community senior population."
Through its multiple integrated services, ranging from a full-spectrum of healthcare needs and social support, PACE is dedicated to maintaining the health of older adults so they may continue to live in their homes independently in the community.
TD Foundation gives heritage group $5K
TD Bank has donated $5,000 to the Essex National Heritage Commission as part of the bank's commitment to giving back to the community.
The grant, through the TD Charitable Foundation for the Youth Summer Jobs program, allows for the hiring of three additional under-served youth to start working at the two National Park sites in Salem and Saugus.
"We are thrilled to receive this grant from TD Charitable Foundation," said Annie C. Harris, executive director of the Essex National Heritage Commission, "to hire additional youth who will engage in educational and enrichment programs, while gaining valuable employment experience and life and leadership skills. This program is a successful example of the benefits of public-private partnerships."
The Essex National Heritage Commission is a non-profit steward of the Essex National Heritage Area. Its mission is to preserve and enhance the historic, cultural and natural resources of Essex County for the benefit of all who live in, work in and visit the Area.
