---- — ROCKPORT — Emerson Inn by the Sea is offering 10 veterans and, or active members of the military, plus one adult guest a free room on Monday, Nov. 11, to say thank you for your service to our country.

Ten active or former members of the military will be offered overnight accommodations on Veteran’s Day, along with breakfast the next day.

Additionally, from Sunday, Nov. 10, through Thursday, Nov. 14, all veterans and active military will be honored with the second night free when the first night is paid at regular rate for two-night getaways.

Emerson Inn joins hundreds of innkeepers across the U.S. and Canada to offer free rooms to veterans through the B&Bs for Vets program.

“We are delighted to take part in the B&Bs for Vets program this year,” said owner and innkeeper Bruce Coates in a statement. “We’re offering ten free rooms to veterans or active military as our way of saying thank you for your service to our country.”

The B&Bs for Vets program started in West Virginia when a small group of innkeepers opened their doors to veterans as a way to say thank you on Veteran’s Day. Now in its fifth year, Emerson Inn joins hundreds of innkeepers throughout North America in offering rooms to veterans.
