CEO's public debut at Saturday dinner

New Cape Ann Chamber CEO Robert Heidt is already on the job, but his public debut will essentially come Saturday night, when the chamber hosts is annual diner dance at Cruiseport Gloucester.

The event — based on the theme "Celebrating the Past, Embracing the Future" — kicks off the chamber's 90th year of operation, and will not only ring in Heidt's term as COE, but feature the installation of Mark Grenier of BankGloucester as the chamber's new president.

More than 200 people are expected for the event, which will feature music by Garfish and include salutes to some of Cape Ann's longest-running businesses and institutions, including Bass Rocks Golf Club, Cape Ann Golf Club (formerly Essex Golf Club), Cape Ann YMCA, Cape Pond Ice, Gorton's Seafoods, Greely Funeral Service, Carroll K. Steele Insurance, and the Magnolia and Sawyer Free libraries.

Tickets are $85. For information or reservations, contact Tim Burton at the Chamber of Commerce at 978-283-1601.
