In October, for the third consecutive year, BankGloucester will donate $15,000 to 15 community organizations on Cape Ann. The bank is looking to members of the community to assist it in deciding how to best allocate the money.
Residents may vote for up to three of the following organizations: Action Inc., American Red Cross of Northeastern Massachusetts, Cape Ann Animal Aid, Cape Ann YMCA, Friends of Seacoast, Gloucester Education Foundation, Gloucester Fisherman's Athletic Association, Gloucester Maritime Heritage Center, HAWC, Open Door Food Pantry, Rose Baker Senior Center, Sawyer Free Library, SeniorCare and Wellspring. Residents may suggest an organization in need.
Information about the organizations is available online at www.BankGloucester.com or in the bank's lobby, 160 Main St., Gloucester.
The money will be distributed based on the number of votes received. Ballots are available in the bank lobby or online. The organization receiving the most votes will receive $5,000. The organization receiving the second most votes will receive $3,000. The organization receiving the third most votes will receive $1,000. The remaining 12 organizations will each be awarded $500.
Ballots must be submitted by Oct. 1. Winners will be announced the week of Oct. 11.
