Pata named trust officer
Cape Ann Savings Bank has announced that Gloucester resident Linda Pata has been hired as trust officer.
Pata will be responsible for the administration of trust accounts, investment management accounts, estates and individual retirement accounts. Pata is a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor, a recognized standard of knowledge and competence for the trust and wealth advisory field.
"Linda brings 20 years of results-driven experience and an abundance of education to those she will serve," John T. Brennan, vice president and senior trust officer, said in a prepared statement. "Furthermore, the entire bank team will surely benefit from her valuable insight when collaborating on behalf of our clients."
Pata has helped residents of the North Shore meet their trust needs for years, beginning in a similar position at Beverly National Bank, which merged with Danversbank and is now part of People's United Bank.
She received a bachelor's degree in business administration from Salem State College, followed by continued education including New England School of Banking-Trust and the American Bankers Association National Graduate Trust School.
Pata is active in the community, serving as treasurer of her local elementary school's Parent Teacher Organization for the last six years. She also was recently elected to serve as treasurer of Cape Ann Youth Lacrosse. She lives in Gloucester with her husband and two children.
Blagden nets real estate award
Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in New England recently announced that Manchester resident Kelly Blagden, a sales associate in the the Manchester office, was awarded the Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES) professional designation by the Senior Advantage Real Estate Council.
Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage sales associates who obtain this designation are qualified to assist seniors in making wise decisions about selling the family home, buying replacement or investment property, managing the capital gains and estate tax implications of owning or selling real estate, obtaining a reverse mortgage, and moving to a senior community.
"In taking this course, Kelly is continuing to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in today's real estate industry, and is demonstrating her dedication and commitment to her clients," said Pat Villani, president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in New England, in a statement.
The Senior Advantage Real Estate Council tracks the special issues and needs of senior property owners and provides ongoing updates and education to Realtors who make seniors an important focus of their business. The SRES designation was introduced in 1997 and is nationally recognized.
Blagden, who has been in the real estate business since 2006, was also awarded the Loss Mitigation Certification professional designation by the Massachusetts Association of Realtors in 2008.
Brokerage salutes sales associates
Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage also recently congratulated 10 different sales associates for ranking among the Top 20 real estate professionals on Cape Ann in 2011.
These top-producing sales associates are Lynda Surdam, Philio Cushing, Scott Smith, Ginger Attaya, Nannie Winslow, Marianne Round, Alice Miller, Nancy Goodick, Jessica Tully and William Rochford.
These sales associates ranked in the Top 20 for total dollar volume sold in the Cape Ann communities of Essex, Gloucester, Manchester and Rockport, according to statistics from the MLS Property Information Network.
Overall, these 10 agents sold almost $85 milion worth of Cape Ann real estate, and assisted more than 90 buyers and sellers with their transaction. The other 10 agents in the Top 20 represent six other companies.
