Boston firm names VP of business development
Caturano and Company in Boston recently named Kevin Kopanon as vice president of the firm's business development group. Kopanon's team focuses on the consulting services of the firm including management and technology consulting, outsourcing, and risk and compliance.
Kopanon brings more than 10 years of experience providing business development leadership with an emphasis on technology solutions for mid-market businesses. He has worked extensively with clients in the areas of knowledge-sharing and data management, SaaS ERP and business applications, data delivery systems, and associated consulting initiatives.
Prior to joining Caturano and Company, Kopanon held several positions of leadership within software, media, and publishing companies, all of which focused on building scalable and profitable sales and marketing channels. A Gloucester native, Kopanon received his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Trinity College.
Watkins named brokerage manager
First American Insurance Underwriters Inc., the Needham-based life insurance brokerage firm, has named Jeff Watkins of Manchester as a brokerage manager. Watkins is responsible in assisting producers by providing sales opportunities and underwriting solutions to help their business grow.
Before joining First American, Watkins was employed by E-Z Data in Pasadena, Calif., where he was instrumental in promoting and selling a CRM (customer relationship management) software for financial advisors, and prior to that he was a registered rep with New York Life in Waltham. Watkins attended American International College in Springfield and Northeastern University in Boston.
Taylor appointed commission chairman
Beverly Hospital physician, Hugh M. Taylor, M.D., has been appointed to serve as chairman of the American Academy of Family Physicians' (AAFP) Commission on Governmental Advocacy for a one-year term that began Jan. 1.
The Commission on Governmental Advocacy is one of seven commissions that direct AAFP policies and programs. This commission actively works on legislative and regulatory issues of importance to its members, their patients and their communities, analyzes proposed laws and regulations and recommends Academy policy for Board consideration.
Dr. Taylor, has also been appointed to serve as a member representative to the American Academy of Family Physicians' delegation to the American Medical Association for a two-year term that also began Jan. 1.
As a member of the AMA House of Delegates, Taylor will serve as an important link between the AMA and grassroots physicians. He will bring the viewpoints and concerns of primary care physicians, and their patients, to the AMA.
Dr. Taylor is a partner at Family Medicine Associates (FMA) in Hamilton. FMA is a group practice of Family Physicians with three offices located in Manchester, Hamilton and Middleton.
