State economic chief at Chamber breakfast

Massachusetts Secretary of Housing and Economic Development Greg Bialecki will be the featured speaker at the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce's annual economic forecast breakfast Friday, starting at 7:30 a.m. at The Elks at Bass Rocks, 101 Atlantic Road, Gloucester.

Responsible for administering and achieving the commonwealth's housing and economic development programs under Gov. Deval Patrick, and accelerating economic recovery by supporting job creation throughout the state, Bialecki's presentation will focus on "Developing a Collaborative Agenda for Job Creation in Massachusetts."

Before joining the Patrick-Murray Administration, Bialecki worked for 20 years as a real estate development and environmental lawyer at the law firms of Hill & Barlow and DLA Piper Rudnick, where his work focused on the major urban redevelopment projects in Greater Boston.

Drawing on this private sector experience, his agenda for this year is aimed at supporting and expanding the commonwealth's innovation economy, helping small businesses grow by improving their access to capital and by addressing their rising health care costs.

The program will conclude by 9 a.m. Tickets are $20 and may be reserved by emailing: tim@CapeAnnChamber.com or calling the Chamber office 978-283-1601.
