Davis named partner

Gloucester resident Reneé Davis has been named partner at the CPA firm of Powers & Sullivan in Wakefield.

A graduate of Salem State College with an MBA from Suffolk University, Davis has been a manager with the firm for the past seven years, concentrating her practice in municipal accounting, auditing and consulting.

"Reneé brings a depth of experience to our firm. She is a tremendous asset to our firm and clients," said Jim Powers, co-founder of Powers & Sullivan, in a statement. "We are pleased to call her our partner."

Powers & Sullivan, Certified Public Accountants, has been serving clients across Massachusetts since 1990. The firm offers a wide array of services, with a focus on local and state governments.

Shahin named president of Sandy Bay Machine

TSI Group Inc. recently announced the appointment of Mohamed Shahin as president of Sandy Bay Machine Inc.

Located in Rockport, Sandy Bay specializes in all elements of metalworking with an emphasis on machining radiofrequency, microwave and millimeter wave and fiber optic components.

"Mohamed's strong leadership, technical and communication skills combined with his abilities in program management made him a clear choice for leading Sandy Bay. I am confident that Mohamed will be successful in meeting new challenges and taking Sandy Bay to the next level," said Greg Tucker, CEO of TSI Group Inc., in a statement

Prior to becoming president, Shahin was general manager of Sandy Bay and has worked there since 1999. He earned his bachelor's degree in computer science and information studies from Salem State College in Salem, and his masters in international business law from Ainshams University in Cairo, Egypt.

Lorigan named home-based travel agent

Sandy Lorigan, formerly of Caboose Travel in Gloucester (now Navigant Vacations), is a home-based travel agent in Rockport.

Lorigan has more than 25 years experience in the travel industry arranging tours, cruises, villa rentals, barge trips, as well as Caribbean and European vacations.

Navigant Vacations is affiliated with the consortium virtuoso.
