Rockport goings on

Events listed here are open to the public and sponsored by nonprofit groups unless otherwise noted. Dog licenses

Dog licenses are now available at the town clerk's office during regular business hours: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Tuesday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Friday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is $10 for spayed or neutered dog or $16 for non-spayed or neutered. Rabies vaccination certificates must be presented at the time of registration. Licenses are due by May 31; a $5 late fee will be imposed for each month after that date.

Earth Day

Friends of Andrews Woods, the Rights of Way Committee, and the Conservation Commission will host a community cleanup and potluck on Earth Day, Saturday, April 21, to celebrate Rockport's trails and open spaces. Bring rakes and clippers and dress for the brush (gloves, hats, socks, boots). Kids may participate, and snacks, books, and activities will be on hand for them. Don't forget artwork for the Earth Day Gallery! Meet in and around Andrews Woods, Atlantic Path, and public footpaths. Assemble in back of 94 Phillip Ave., arrive by 10 a.m. for instructions, maps, and groupings. Work until noon, then reassemble for a potluck; bring something to share, or pitch in for pizza.
