Essex Goings On

Events listed here are open to the public and sponsored by nonprofit groups unless otherwise noted. Press releases may be sent to Goings on, Gloucester Daily Times, 36 Whittemore St., Gloucester, MA 01930, sent via email to gdt@gloucestertimes.com or faxed to 978-282-4397. Please include a contact person’s name and telephone number and send at least two weeks prior to the event. The Times will do its best to run the announcement at least once prior to the event. Due to the volume of goings on listings received by the paper, listings are alternated once they run and the same listings are not printed every day.

Story hour

Children, ages 3-5 with a caregiver, can enjoy songs, stories, crafts and fun Thursdays, 10 a.m., at the T.O.H.P. Burnham Library, 30 Martin St. Call 978-768-7410 or email dfrench@mvlc.org.

Game night

Game night, for teens in grades seven to 12, will take place Friday, Nov. 30, 6 to 8 p.m., at the T.O.H.P. Burnham Library, 30 Martin St. Snacks, door prize and lots of board games available.

Nutcracker party

Saturday, Dec. 8, at 2 p.m., children 5 years and older can settle into the season at the T.O.H.P. Burnham Library with storyteller Carolyn Martino narrating the spellbinding Christmas classic “The Nutcracker,” followed by delicious holiday fare. Tickets are free, but always a sell out! Jewelry Party

On Monday, Nov. 26, join a jewelry party and support the library at 7 p.m. Hosted by the Friends of the T.O.H.P. Burnham Library. Library member Patty Roundy, 57 Martin St. Shop for Holiday gifts or treat yourself to something special. A percentage of sales support the library. Can’t make the date?
