Gloucester Goings On

Events listed here are open to the public and sponsored by nonprofit groups unless otherwise noted. Adopt-a-Cat

In celebration of national Adopt-A-Cat Month, Cape Ann Animal Aid will offer month-long cat adoption specials and sales on all cat merchandise. Adult cats are available for $25 off the adoption fee, and adoption fees will be waived for special needs cats. Adopters receive free goodie bags with supplies, and all cat merchandise at CAAA’s Christopher Cutler Rich Animal Shelter will be 50 percent off. Visit www.CapeAnnAnimalAid.com or call 978-283-6055.

Fireworks fund

The Gloucester Fireworks Committee is raising money for the July 3 and Labor Day weekend fireworks displays. Donations, large or small, are welcome. GHS Class of 1958

Chill Zone

The Chill Zone, a community living room where youth (ages 12-18) can connect with friends, do homework and get a nutritious meal, is open Mondays and Wednesdays, 6 to 9 p.m., at The Hive, 11 Pleasant St., during the summer.
