Rockport Goings On

Events listed here are open to the public and sponsored by nonprofit groups unless otherwise noted. Please include a contact person’s name and telephone number and send at least two weeks prior to the event. The Times will do its best to run the announcement at least once prior to the event. Garden Club

The Rockport Garden Club will meet Monday, June 3, at the Rockport Community House. A tea and social hour begin at noon. At 1:15 p.m., landscape designer Adriana O’Sullivan will present “Thirty Plants that Pay the Rent.”

Pigeon Cove Circle

Pigeon Cove Circle will hold a pot-luck supper Thursday, May 30, at 6 p.m. All are welcome. Bring an item for the table. Local author Gunilla Caulfield will discuss her recent book, “World War II Army Nurse June Houghton Sullivan — A Life Story.” A book signing will be held with books for sale.

RUNA at Old Sloop

Old Sloop Coffeehouse will present a performance by RUNA on Friday, June 7, 7:30 p.m., at the First Congregational Church, 12 School St., with Bob and Jen Strom opening. Advance tickets are $12; visit www.oldsloopcoffeehouse.org, or stop by Gloucester Music or Toad Hall Bookstore in Rockport. Tickets, at the door, are $14 (adults), $9 (65 and older), $5 (under 18), $28 per family.

Meet the author

Residents will have an opportunity to peek into the world of international cuisine when master chef and professor Brendan Cronin speaks on Wednesday, May 22, 7 p.m., in the Brenner Friends Room, Rockport Public Library. Free program is sponsored by the library, Friends of the Rockport Public Library, and Toad Hall Bookstore.
