“Perspective and Point of View in Memoir” with memoirist Helen Fremont, 7:30 p.m., Gloucester Writers Center, 126 East Main St. Fremont’s first memoir, “After a Long Silence,” was published in 1999 and tells of being raised Roman Catholic and discovering in her 30s that her parents were in fact Jewish Holocaust survivors. 978-283-7738.

Gloucester native and Pushcart Prize winning author Anna Solomon at Sawyer Free, 7 p.m., duiscussing how Gloucester inspired her prize winning story “The Lobster Mafia,” Free copies available at circulation desk or her website at: annasolomon.com.

Friday, Nov. 9
