Coastal waters east of Ipswich Bay and the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary:

Gale watch in effect from Wednesday morning through late Wednesday night.

Today, northwest winds 10 to 15 knots, becoming northeast around 5 knots in the afternoon. Seas 2 to 4 feet.

Tonight, east winds 5 to 10 knots, becoming northeast 15 to 20 knots with gusts up to 25 knots after midnight. Seas 2 to 4 feet.

Wednesday, northeast winds 25 to 30 knots with gusts up to 35 knots, increasing to 30 to 35 knots with gusts up to 45 knots in the afternoon. Seas 7 to 10 feet. Rain.

Wednesday night, northeast winds 30 to 40 knots with gusts up to 50 knots. Seas 14 to 19 feet. Patchy fog. Rain. Visibility 1 to 3 nautical miles.

Thursday, northeast winds 25 to 30 knots, diminishing to around 20 knots in the afternoon. Seas 12 to 17 feet. Patchy fog. Rain. Visibility 1 to 3 nautical miles.

Thursday night, north winds 20 to 25 knots with gusts up to 30 knots. Seas 8 to 11 feet. Rain likely.

Friday, northwest winds 20 to 25 knots with gusts up to 30 knots. Seas 6 to 9 feet.

Friday night, north winds 15 to 20 knots with gusts up to 25 knots. Seas 4 to 6 feet.

Saturday, north winds 10 to 15 knots with gusts up to 20 knots. Seas 3 to 5 feet.

Saturday night, east winds 5 to 10 knots. Seas 2 to 4 feet.
