Rockport Goings On

Events listed here are open to the public and sponsored by nonprofit groups unless otherwise noted. Boy Scout Christmas trees

Rockport’s Boy Scout Troop 20 is selling Christmas trees at Scout Hall, 47 Mt. Pleasant St., on Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays, noon to 5 p.m., while supplies last. High quality, fresh cut trees direct from a new supplier in Nova Scotia. Three sizes available: 4-5 foot trees for $25; 5-8 foot trees for $35; 8-10 foot trees for $45. All profits benefit Troop 20 and are used for scouting trips, outings and/or equipment. Free hot chocolate. Call 978-546-1652.

Christmas celebration

A Christmas Celebration in Song, featuring the North Shore Christian Men’s Choir, will take place Saturday, Dec. 21, 2:30 p.m., at First Baptist Church, Harvey Park, 4 High St. Admission is free. Refreshments follow. All are welcome.

Youth basketball

Rockport’s youth recreational basketball, for children in grades one through five, runs Saturday mornings, Jan. 4-Feb. 8, at Rockport High School. To sign up, visit Contact Caitlin at 978-546-1309 or

Old Sloop Coffeehouse

Old Sloop Coffeehouse will present a performance by Overboard on Saturday, Jan. 4, 7:30 p.m., at the First Congregational Church, 12 School St. Advance tickets are $18. Tickets at the door are $21, $13 for seniors, $5 for juniors, $42 per family. Visit, email or call 978-309-9667.
