Gloucester Goings On

Events listed here are open to the public and sponsored by nonprofit groups unless otherwise noted. Press releases may be sent to Goings on, Gloucester Daily Times, 36 Whittemore St., Gloucester, MA 01930, sent via email to gdt@gloucestertimes.com or faxed to 978-282-4397. Please include a contact person’s name and telephone number and send at least two weeks prior to the event. The Times will do its best to run the announcement at least once prior to the event. Due to the volume of goings on listings received by the paper, listings are alternated once they run and the same listings are not printed every day.

Yard sale fundraiser

The Cape Ann Vernal Pond Team and Kestral Educational Adventures will hold the third annual fundraiser yard sale Saturday, May 25, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., on Commercial Street, next to St. Peter’s parking area. Rain date is Sunday, May 26. The team is accepting items in good condition: clothing, small furniture, books, toys, sports and household items. (No TVs or computers). Items may be dropped off from 7 to 9 a.m. Small items may be picked up and/or stored upon request. Call Cora at 978-281-5326.

Annisquam Exchange

The Annisquam Exchange, a nonprofit fine consignments shop is open for the season. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays, until June 8; after June 8, Mondays-Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A portion of consignments is gifted back to the community to help those in need.

Tribute fundraiser

City Councilor Jackie Hardy will be honored at a reception Saturday, June 22, 5 to 6:30 p.m., at the Gloucester House restaurant. Hardy represents Bay View, Annisquam and Lanesville, and serves as council president. Event will feature hors d’oeuvres and a program led by City Councilor Bruce Tobey. Proceeds benefit the new Gloucester Dog Park. Tickets are $100. For tickets, call Bruce Tobey at 978-968-8100 or Dick Wilson at 978-525-3293. Checks should be made payable to the Gloucester Fund; write “Jackie Hardy/Dog Park” in the memo line.
