Harbor Loop concerts
The Harbor Loop Concert Series has provided free popular entertainment for the residents and visitors of Cape Ann since 1973.
Every Thursday evening, as the sun sets over Gloucester, music lovers enjoy a variety of bands and solo performers while overlooking the historic inner harbor from the hillside of Fitz Hugh Lane Park. Beach chairs, picnic blankets and children of all ages offer an inviting family-friendly environment. On average, 1,500 people attend each week.
The 2012 Harbor Loop Concert Series begins July 12 and runs through Aug. 30t All shows run from 6 to 9 p.m.
The city of Gloucester provides a police detail, access to electrical power, public bathrooms and the services of the Department of Sanitation.
All proceeds raised for the series are used to cover direct expenses including sound, lighting, insurance, stage risers and production crew. Pass-the-hat income will be given directly to the entertainers on the night of each show.
The Gloucester music community would like to thank all of the past and future sponsors of the Harbor Loop Concert Series. We are looking forward to another exciting season and hope that you will consider supporting this Gloucester tradition in 2012. Donations of any size are gladly accepted and greatly appreciated.
