The Council on Aging’s six-week writing class meets Tuesdays, 1 to 2:30 p.m., at the Manchester Community Center, with local writer Katherine F. Robertson, author of “Life in Violet.” Class limited to 10. Learn to write fictional short stories and/or memoirs using writing prompts. Cost is $35, payable to the instructor. Beginner and advanced skating skills group and private lessons are available for boys and girls ages 5-12, tots ages 21/2 and up, teens and adults. Instruction is by professional coaches certified by USA Hockey and U.S. Figure Skating associations. Lessons available at Talbot Rink on Tuesdays, 6 p.m., and Saturdays, 1 p.m.; at Pingree School in Hamilton on Tuesdays and Fridays, 9:30 a.m. and 12:45 p.m., and Wednesdays, 1:30 p.m. Private lessons also available.
