Events listed here are open to the public and sponsored by nonprofit groups unless otherwise noted. Earth Day Cleanup

The Clean City Initiative will hold an Earth Day cleanup at Stage Fort Park on Saturday, April 27, from 9 a.m. to noon. Fresh fruits and vegetables will be collected for the Food Pantry. Clean Stage Fort Park or any area that you like to visit that needs some cleaning. Take an extra bag and separate the recycling from the trash. Organize a neighborhood cleanup. Education forum

The Gloucester Education Foundation and the Gloucester Public School District will present an education forum titled “Access and Empowerment: Technology as a Game-Changer in the 21st Century Classroom,” on Wednesday, May 1, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at Cruiseport Gloucester, Rowe’s Square. Guest speaker will be Alan November, an internationally-known lecturer and author on technology and its impact on learning and education. Program is free and open to the public. Writers workshop

Local actress, writer, director and drama coach M. Lynda Robinson will offer a workshop at the Gloucester Writers Center, 126 East Main St., on Monday, April 15, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Workshop will provide skills for presenting your work to an audience including: relaxation, vocal variety, engaging with your audience, body language, and other tools. Cost is $50. Participants are asked to bring a short piece of their writing (or someone else’s) to work on. Register at Park across the street.
