What do we need in this life
When all is said and done
I think we want some assurance
That we can have some fun
We want to be sure that life is secure
That everything stays in its place
We want this place to stay the same
To stay content with a smile on our face
But what happens when we go from here?
When God says, "Come stay with me
I want you to do my work
I have lots for you to see"
I thought the best part of life
The things that were sublime
That was our heaven on Earth
That's what I believed all the time
But I forgot one thing that's important
Something I knew as a child
The world as we know it is beautiful
It's peaceful but sometimes it's wild
We forget that heaven is better
Things are brighter than even a star
