Poets Corner: Beauty

What does Beauty mean —

That you have to be on the cover of a magazine?

Beauty to me is seeing a newborn,

Or watching the sun rise at dawn.

Beauty is not just the way you look,

It come from down deep inside

Like a running brook.

Beauty flows through your veins to your heart —

Knowing that you don’t have to be pretty

To be a work of art.

“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.”

We have all heard this before.

Now does this make a lot of sense?

Of course it does.

Because when you’re in love, beautiful or not —

It doesn’t make any difference.

Capt. James Parisi
