Who's Guarding My Home?

Oh, where is the key to open my mind

That mystical word I simply can’t find?

The doors are now locked

And the curtains are drawn

And I’m lost in the darkness

So who’s guarding my home?

Who’s running the show up there on my stage

And writing my script for the following page

And having new visions while I remain blind

And ordering the chaos which I left behind?

Who’s gathering about the tools of my trade

And who is then sharpening my rusty, dull blade

And who is then wiping my broken slate clean

And who is then mending my shattered old dream?

Who’s pouring the oil upon coals in my fire

Ensuring the flames will burn even higher

And lovingly keeping my last hope alive

Hence I, though I’m dying, shall go on to survive?

Is it that higher self present in me

The one who is timeless, ageless and free

The one who I’ve always been destined to be

Yet rarely was ever able to see?

The doors are now locked

And the curtains are drawn

And I’m lost in the darkness

So who’s guarding my home?

Who’s guarding my home?
