Gloucester Goings On

Events listed here are open to the public and sponsored by nonprofit groups unless otherwise noted. Cans for tans

Now thru Nov. 30, Sunbanque Tanning Salon, 156 Prospect St., is offering a free tan to anyone donating canned food items for the needy. No purchase is necessary. For more information, call Sunbanque at 978-281-4442.

Holiday bazaar

The Women of the Moose will hold a holiday bazaar Saturday, Nov. 9, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Cape Ann Moose Lodge, 265 Main St. Features handcrafted items, a white elephant table and a bake sale. To rent a table, call Linda at 978-360-3719.

Kids harvest party

Drop off the kids at the Gloucester United Methodist Church and enjoy a night out. On Friday, Nov. 8, from 5 to 8 p.m., the church is throwing a harvest party for all children ages 3-12. Macaroni and cheese with chicken tenders will be served. Free Christian-themed games, music and crafts. To register, call 978-281-1040.

Gloucester Women’s Club

The monthly meeting of the Gloucester Women’s Club will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 20, at the Trinity Congregational Church, Middle Street. Bring a sandwich!

League of Women Voters

The League of Women Voters of Cape Ann will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Church, Middle Street, Gloucester. The League is a nonpartisan organization of men and women that encourages the informed and active partipation of citizens in government.
