Rockport Goings On

Events listed here are open to the public and sponsored by nonprofit groups unless otherwise noted. Please include a contact person’s name and telephone number and send at least two weeks prior to the event. The Times will do its best to run the announcement at least once prior to the event. OGBA cocktail party

The Old Garden Beach Association of Rockport will host its annual cocktail party on Saturday, June 22, from 5 p.m. at the home of Doreen Gove, 16 Dean Road, Rockport. This event is BYOB and bring your own lawn chair. All friends, neighbors, members and nonmembers are welcome.

Midsummer Fest

Spiran Lodge 98 will present the Midsummer Fest on Saturday, June 22, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Harvey Park, corner of Broadway and Mount Pleasant Street. Features Scandinavian folk music and dancing, children’s activities, Swedish meatballs, strawberries and cream, nisu and coffee, a Scandinavian gift table and more.

Variety show

Students from the Waring School in Beverly will perform a Vaudeville Variety Show at the Rockport Senior Center, 58 Broadway, on Monday, June 17, at 1 p.m. All are welcome. To RSVP, call Diane or Paula at 978-546-2573.


In celebration of national Adopt-A-Cat Month, Cape Ann Animal Aid will offer month-long cat adoption specials and sales on all cat merchandise. Adult cats are available for $25 off the adoption fee, and adoption fees will be waived on special needs cats. Adopters receive free goodie bags with supplies, and all cat merchandise at CAAA’s Christopher Cutler Rich Animal Shelter will be 50 percent off. Visit or call 978-283-6055.
