Gloucester goings on

GHS Class of '52

On Saturday, Aug. 25, Gloucester High School and St. Ann Class of 1952 will hold their 60th reunion dinner in the Compass Room of the Gloucester House Restaurant from 4 to 8 p.m., followed by a harborside brunch the next morning, Sunday, Aug. 26, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Seven Seas Cafe at the Gloucester House. Saturday night's event will rock to golden oldies from the 50s, with prizes including a 60th diamond jubilee tea set commemorating the 60th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth, "Man at the Wheel" bookends, a handmade quilt, and cartoons signed by syndicated cartoonist Mark Parisi. Over 100 reservations have already been received. Christmas in July!

The Council on Aging Social Day Care Program participants will hold the annual "Christmas in July Fair" on Friday, July 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside the Rose Baker Senior Center. The fundraiser, which helps supplement their activities, features white elephant items, puzzles, books, jewelry, decorations, fresh home-baked goods, a raffle and prizes including Walgreens and Market Basket gift cards, and a beautiful handmade afghan. Donations are still needed and will be gratefully appreciated; please call the senior center at 978 281-9765.

Holy Family summer

Starting Saturday, July 7, the Mass schedule for Holy Family Parish is as follows: St. Ann Church: Saturday, 4 p.m.; Sunday, 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.; St. Anthony Chapel, Sunday, 9:30 a.m.; St. Joachim Church, Sunday 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Monday through Friday Masses are at 9 a.m. This schedule remains in effect through Labor Day Weekend.
