FIREWORKS FUND: The Gloucester Fireworks Committee is raising funds for Labor Day weekend celebrations. The current economy makes this a difficult task but fireworks bring such a joy and have become Gloucester traditions. All donations are tax deductible, and any amount, large or small, is welcome. VNA CARE NETWORK AND HOSPICE NEEDS VOLUNTEERS: A nonprofit home health care, hospice and wellness agency, VNA Care Network and Hospice needs volunteers to provide practical and emotional support to terminally ill patients and their families on the North Shore, Cape Ann and Merrimack Valley. ASHLEY RICHARD SCHOLARSHIP: The Ashley Richard Memorial Scholarship, created by family and friends in her memory, is awarded each year to a deserving Gloucester High School senior who has participated in Junior ROTC. The student must demonstrate the leadership, citizenship and perseverance to strive to make things better. Qualified students must be accepted at an accredited school of continued learning.
