Gloucester Daily Times

What is a poem

It is words that rhyme

Why, yes it is

But only some of the time

What does it say

And what does it mean

Should it be heard

Or even be seen

Who writes these poems

Is it something they feel

Maybe it’s just words

But is it for real

I like writing poems

It makes me feel good

And it soothes my heart

Like I knew it would
