Essex Goings On

Events listed here are open to the public and sponsored by nonprofit groups unless otherwise noted. ‘Romantic Masters’ concert

The Cape Ann Symphony’s “Late Romantic Masters Concert” will take place Sunday, March 24, 2 p.m., in the Manchester Essex High School auditorium, 36 Lincoln St., Manchester. Pianist David Deveau joins the symphony for Rachmaninoff’s “Piano Concerto No. 2.” Program also features the orchestra performing Sibelius’ “Symphony No. 2.” Tickets are $35 for adults, $30 for seniors, $20 for young adults, free for children 18 and under. Recycle Day fundraiser

The Docksiders Jazz Band will hold an Electronics and Appliance Recycle Day fundraiser Saturday, March 16, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Gloucester High School parking lot, 32 Leslie O’Johnson Road, Gloucester. All towns are welcome.

Electronics — ($5 each) computers, stereos, DVD players, scanners, copiers, etc.

Appliances — ($10 each) dishwashers, dryers, stoves, microwaves, dehumidifiers, refrigerators, air conditioners, exercise equipment, lawn mowers, small engine items, snow blowers, etc.

Televisions — $15-30 each

Monitors — $10

Sewing machines, cell phones, car batteries and bicycles may be dropped off for free. Unwanted bicycles will get a new home, with some going to Ghana and some staying in the U.S. Contact Dennis Wood at 508-277-7513 denwaynewood@yahoo.com.

Yankee Networkers

The Yankee Networkers Chapter of BNI, a business referral organization, meets every Wednesday at the Farm Bar & Grill, 233 Western Ave. Business breakfasts are served from 7 to 8:30 a.m. Visitors are invited.
