Manchester Goings On

Events listed here are open to the public and sponsored by nonprofit groups unless otherwise noted. Please include a contact person’s name and telephone number and send at least two weeks prior to the event. The Times will do its best to run the announcement at least once prior to the event. ‘Romantic Masters’ concert

The Cape Ann Symphony’s “Late Romantic Masters Concert” will take place Sunday, March 24, 2 p.m., in the Manchester Essex High School auditorium, 36 Lincoln St., Manchester. Pianist David Deveau joins the symphony for Rachmaninoff’s “Piano Concerto No. 2.” Program also features the orchestra performing Sibelius’ “Symphony No. 2.” Tickets are $35 for adults, $30 for seniors, $20 for young adults, free for children 18 and under. Legion dinner

The Sons of the American Legion will host a St. Patrick’s Day dinner and raffle Saturday, March 16, 6 p.m., at Legion Hall. Dinner tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door. Raffle tickets are $25. Only 100 tickets will be sold; first prize is $500, second prize is $300, third prize is $200, fourth prize is $150, fifth prize is $100, and sixth prize is $50. For tickets, stop by the hall.

Kids cook!

Students in kindergarten through grade five will coook up pancakes with maple syrup with Miss Debbie on Saturday, March 9, at Manchester Public Library. To sign up, call 978-526-2016 or email scollins@mvlc.org ASAP.

‘Snakes of Massachusetts’

Rick Roth will present “Snakes of Massachusetts” on Wednesday, March 13, 1 p.m., at Manchester Public Library. See native and exotic snakes close up. To register, contact Sara Collins at 978-526-2016 or scollins@mvlc.org.
