‘Our Town’

Maritime Gloucester is running a boat building course for high school students with eight weeks of classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Dory Shop. Taught by Geno Mondello, the program offers hands-on experience in laying out, lofting and making full-sized patterns and pieces and assembling and finishing a skiff. No prior experience necessary. Kids summer lunch

 

The Open Door Food Pantry will serve free summer lunch to children under the age of 18, from June 15 to Aug. 24, at Riverdale Park, Willowood Gardens and The Open Door. Lunches are served Monday through Friday, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Summer Food Service Programs are federally funded through the USDA and sponsored by the Massachusetts Department of Education. SeniorCare serves lunch daily at the senior luncheon centers at 11:30 a.m., Monday through Friday. A $2 donation is requested.
