Gloucester Goings On

Events listed here are open to the public and sponsored by nonprofit groups unless otherwise noted. Please include a contact person’s name and telephone number and send at least two weeks prior to the event. The Times will do its best to run the announcement at least once prior to the event. Due to the volume of goings on listings received by the paper, listings are alternated once they run and the same listings are not printed every day.

Child loss

Loss of a Child Support Group is available to parents who have lost a child at any age on the third Wednesday of the month at 6 p.m. in the Longan Room, Addison Gilbert Hospital. Use the Washington Street entrance. There is no fee. Preregister with Judi Dagle-Ernest at 978-879-9718.

Bowling fundraiser

A bowling fundraiser to benefit Daniel Silva, who was burned during a fire, will take place Sunday, March 3, 5 to 8 p.m., at Cape Ann Lanes. Cost is $20 per person and includes three strings of bowling and shoe rental. Teams of five, or singles, are welcome. Event is for those 21 and over. Space is limited. Sign up by Feb. 28.

Healthy Streets Program

Northeast Behavioral Health (NBH) Healthy Streets Outreach Program provides HIV testing, hepatitis C information, access to drug treatment, overdose prevention and Narcan training. All services, provided by NBH Healthy Streets Program, are available at Gloucester Family Health Center, 302 Washington St., Gloucester, lower level, Wednesdays, noon to 5 p.m. Call 978-236-0251.

Condo lottery

The Gloucester Housing Authority has a homeownership lottery for three newly-built condos at 10 Taylor St., Gloucester. The two-bedroom condos are spacious and have an extra huge finished, heated room in the attic with skylights and a harbor view. The two condos are priced at $125,000 each. The lower level is an open floor plan wheelchair-accessible condo with a separate bedroom and laundry room. Price: $90,000. All three condos have off-street parking. Lottery applicants should be below 80 percent of median income. Even though certain descriptions are listed as a “preference,” all should apply. Call 978-281-4770, ext. 110.
