Gloucester Goings On

Events listed here are open to the public and sponsored by nonprofit groups unless otherwise noted. Sorellanza concerts

Sorellanza, Cape Ann’s women’s a cappella chorus directed by Patti Pike, will present its “Journey with Friends” concert on the following dates:

Friday, April 5, 7:30 p.m., North Shore UU Church, 323 Locust St., Danvers. $20, $15 for students/seniors.

Sunday, April 7, 4 p.m., First Congregational Church, 12 School St., Rockport. $12, $6 students/seniors.

Sunday, April 28, 4 p.m., St. John’s Episcopal Church, 48 Middle St., Gloucester. $12, $6 for students/seniors.

Gloucester Writers Center

The Gloucester Writers Center, 126 Main St., will welcome three members of Presence/Presença, North American writers of the Portuguese (Luso) diaspora, on Wednesday, April 3, at 7:30 p.m. Call JoeAnn Hart at 978-283-0390 or visit www.gloucesterwriters.org.

Chili & Chowder festival

First Parish Church will host a Chili & Chowder Fest to benefit Wellspring House on Saturday, April 6, 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at 1 Chapel Lane, Manchester. Tickets are $10 for adult, $5 for children under 12. Lunch includes chili, chowder, a beverage, hot dogs and assorted desserts. Free parking available behind Town Hall. Women’s Community Club

The Women’s Community Club will hold an Easter bake sale Saturday, March 30, 8:30 to 11 a.m., at the Magnolia Library Center, corner of Norman and Lexington avenues. All proceeds benefit the scholarship fund. Call Carol Sutherland at 978-525-3773.
