LCC meeting, potluck
The Lanesville Community Center will host its annual open meeting and pot-luck Sunday, April 7, 4 to 6 p.m., at 8 Vulcan St. Bring a dish to share.
GWC poetry salon
The Gloucester Writers Center, 126 East Main St., will host its fifth poetry salon, featuring poets Gerrit Lansing and Fanny Howe, on Saturday, March 30, at 7:30 p.m. Parking available across the street. Desserts served from 7 to 7:30 p.m.
Cape Ann Forum
The next Cape Ann Forum will take place Sunday, April 7, 7 p.m., at the Unitarian Universalist Church, corner of Church and Middle streets. International aid expert John Hammock will discuss “New Ways to Measure Poverty — And to Fight It.” Free and open to the public.
Video composition workshop
Cape Ann TV staff member and videographer Andrew Love will present a video composition workshop Tuesday, April 2, 6 to 7:30 p.m., at Cape Ann TV, 38 Blackburn Center. The class is for the novice filmmaker who wants to take their projects to the next level, and covers the rules and aesthetic guidelines industry professionals follow when crafting their camera shots. Cost is $10, free for Cape Ann TV members.
The Cape Ann Cursillo Community will hold its next ultreya and pot-luck Saturday, April 6, at St. John’s Church in Essex. The pot-luck is at 5 p.m., followed by the ultreya at 6 p.m. All are welcome and need not have been on a cursillo encounter weekend to attend. Call Al Mitchell at 978-879-3655.
