Manchester Goings On

Events listed here are open to the public and sponsored by nonprofit groups unless otherwise noted. Chili & Chowder Fest

First Parish Church will host a Chili & Chowder Fest to benefit Wellspring House on Saturday, April 6, 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at 1 Chapel Lane, Manchester. Tickets are $10 for adult, $5 for children under 12. Lunch includes chili, chowder, a beverage, hot dogs and assorted desserts. Free parking available behind Town Hall. Manchester history

The Centennial Historical Committee of the Manchester Bath & Tennis Club is looking for photos, menus, dance cards and other memorabilia to compile a memory book recounting the past 100 years. Genealogy research

Barbara J. Beake and Peg Plummer from the Essex Society of Genealogists will discuss “Genealogy Research: Finding and Documenting Your Ancestors” on Saturday, April 13, 11 a.m., at the Essex Senior Center, 17 Pickering St., Essex. Topics include basic genealogy research strategies, documentation standards and resources for both genealogy and military records. Free and open to the public. Sponsored by the Cape Ann Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
