Gloucester Goings On

Events listed here are open to the public and sponsored by nonprofit groups unless otherwise noted. Due to the volume of goings on listings received by the paper, listings are alternated once they run and the same listings are not printed every day.

Woman’s Club

The Gloucester Woman’s Club will meet Wednesday, Sept. 25, noon, at Trinity Congregational Church. Dues of $15 are payable at this time. Members are asked to bring a sandwich; dessert and beverages will be provided.

Author to speak

The Gloucester Writers Center, 126 East Main St., will present Meg Kearney, poet and author of two collections of poetry: “An Unkindness of Ravens” and “Home By Now,” on Thursday, Sept. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Visit www.gloucesterwriters.org.

Meet and greet

The Greg Verga Committee kicks off its Vote Verga Councilor At-Large Campaign on Thursday, Sept. 19, 6 to 9 p.m., at the Fiesta Pub, 14 Rogers St. All are invited for light hors d’oeuvres and a meet and greet with the candidate.
