Symphony’s 62nd season
Cape Ann Symphony will launch its 62nd concert season Saturday, Sept. 28, 8 p.m., in the Manchester Essex High School auditorium, 36 Lincoln St., Manchester, with a program featuring guest artist Owen Young from the Boston Symphony Orchestra performing Dvorak’s “Cello Concerto.” Tickets are $35 for adults, $30 for seniors, $20 for young adults, free for children 18 and under. “The Writer’s Block with John Ronan” will be broadcast Thursday, Oct. 3, 8 p.m., on Cape Ann TV’s Channel 12, and will be repeated one week later. Features a rare excursion into couture. Guest is Lisa Griffiths, aka Victoriana Lady Lisa, a leading fashion proponent of Steampunk. On the program she defines Steampunk, talks of her fascination for all things Victorian, and describes her new book, “International Steampunk Fashion.” Ronan, a National Endowment for the Arts fellow and former Gloucester poet laureate, interviews poets and other artists during the half-hour program.
Cub Scout registration
Cub Scouts Pack 112 will hold a sign up night Thursday, Oct. 10, 6:30 to 8 p.m., at the Tyrian Ashler Acacia Lodge, 27 Eastern Ave. Cub Scouts is open to all boys in grades one through five. Call Sarah at 978-283-0727.
