Addison Gilbert Hospital will conduct free diabetes and blood bressure screening at the Rose Baker Senior Center, 6 Manuel F. Lewis St., on Wednesday, Jan. 16 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Fasting is not required. The diabetes screening will be conducted by Certified Diabetes Educator Lynn O’Reilly, MS, RD, LDN, and the blood pressure screening will be conducted by Jennifer Garafola, Clinical Exercise Physiologist. Cape Ann Thrift Shop, 70 Middle St., is open Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The shop offers clothing for the whole family, linens, toys, jewelry and more. Donations of all types are appreciated.
VNA Care Network & Hospice, a nonprofit home health care, hospice and wellness agency, needs volunteers to provide practical and emotional support to terminally-ill patients and their families on the North Shore and Cape Ann.
