114 years of giving

Rockport Christmas Tree Committee’s 114 year tradition of remembrance of the elderly, homebound, and residents of local hospitals and nursing homes continues this year, with visits prior to Christmas. Santa himself visits Den Mar Nursing Home with baskets of fruit and other goodies to gift to the residents. Volunteers will meet at Spiran Hall at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 21, to pack bags and baskets. Christmas morning, volunteers meet at Spiran Hall at 9 a.m. to deliver baskets. On Christmas morning at 10:30 a.m. Santa arrives in Dock Square by horse drawn carriage to distribute traditional bags of candy, fruit and goodies to children. These wonderful Rockport traditions rely solely on volunteers and donations. Donations may be mailed to the Rockport Christmas Tree Committee, c/o Doreen Carter, 2 Mary Helen Way, Rockport, MA 01966, or dropped at any Rockport National Bank location or Smith Lumber and Hardware.
