Essex Goings On

Events listed here are open to the public and sponsored by nonprofit groups unless otherwise noted. Democratic Caucus

The Essex Democratic Committee will be holding a Caucus to elect delegates for the MA Democratic Convention to be held on June 1 in Lowell. We will meet on Saturday, Feb. 9, at 9:45 a.m. at the Senior Center, 17 Pickering St. Doors close at 10 a.m. Refreshments served. For more information, call Lysa Leland, Caucus Chair at 978-768-7006

“Love Letters”

The love letters of John and Mary Adams will be followed by a Winfrey’s fudge and chocolate buffet on Friday Feb. 8, when the Essex Historical Society and Shipbuilding Museum’s presents Adams scholars and living history performers, Patricia Bridgman and Thomas Macy, sharing the intimate correspondence of one of America’s most treasured historical couples. You’ll be transported back in time, as you bear witness to their legendary devotion, artfully presented on the stage at the First Congregational Church on 39 Main St., Essex, starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available online at: essexshipbuildingmuseum.org. $10 pp, advance $15 at the door; and $5 students. If inclement weather, check the web site after 3 p.m.

Monthly lunches

Seniors age 60 and over are invited to lunch at the Essex Senior Center on the first and third Thursday of the month. Lunch is provided by SeniorCare. A $2 donation is requested. For reservations, call 978-768-7932.
