Rockport Goings On

Events listed here are open to the public and sponsored by nonprofit groups unless otherwise noted. Press releases may be sent to Goings on, Gloucester Daily Times, 36 Whittemore St., Gloucester, MA 01930, sent via email to gdt@gloucestertimes.com or faxed to 978-282-4397. Please include a contact person’s name and telephone number and send at least two weeks prior to the event. The Times will do its best to run the announcement at least once prior to the event. DECA fundraiser

Rockport High School DECA will host a dinner fundraiser on Monday, Feb. 11, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Fish Shack, 21 Dock Square,Rockport. Tickets are $8 and the menu offers spaghetti, meatballs, desserts, soft drinks, and coffee. Proceeds will help support the upcoming Massachusetts DECA State Competition. Baseball registration

Rockport Diamond Sports is hosting on-line registration for youth baseball and softball at our website: rdsi.org. The registration period ends Feb. 28. ASA Softball is for players grades 3-8. Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball is for players ages 7-16. The player’s age is based on their age as of April 30, 2013. The cost for ASA Softball & Little League Baseball is $95. The cost for Babe Ruth Baseball (ages 13-16) is $105. The cap per family is $190.

Local auditions

The Fishtown Players will hold auditions for its April production of Martin McDonagh’s “The Lonesome West” on Thursday, Jan. 24, 7 p.m., at the Rocky Neck Cultural Center, 6 Wonson St. Auditions will be based on readings from the script and are available online at www.fishtownplayers.com. You may also prepare a short (1-2 minute) monologue. The show will run for two weekends (April 4-14) at the Gloucester Stage Company. Call 978-515-7957.
