Rockport Goings On

Events listed here are open to the public and sponsored by nonprofit groups unless otherwise noted. DECA fundraiser

Rockport High School DECA will host a dinner fundraiser on Monday, Feb. 11, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Fish Shack, 21 Dock Square,Rockport. Tickets are $8 and the menu offers spaghetti, meatballs, desserts, soft drinks, and coffee. Proceeds will help support the upcoming Massachusetts DECA State Competition. Baseball registration

Rockport Diamond Sports is hosting on-line registration for youth baseball and softball at our website: The registration period ends Feb. 28. ASA Softball is for players grades 3-8. Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball is for players ages 7-16. The player’s age is based on their age as of April 30, 2013. The cost for ASA Softball & Little League Baseball is $95. The cost for Babe Ruth Baseball (ages 13-16) is $105. The cap per family is $190.

Local auditions

The Fishtown Players will hold auditions for its April production of Martin McDonagh’s “The Lonesome West” on Thursday, Jan. 24, 7 p.m., at the Rocky Neck Cultural Center, 6 Wonson St. Auditions will be based on readings from the script and are available online at You may also prepare a short (1-2 minute) monologue.
