Gloucester Goings On

Events listed here are open to the public and sponsored by nonprofit groups unless otherwise noted. Press releases may be sent to Goings on, Gloucester Daily Times, 36 Whittemore St., Gloucester, MA 01930, sent via email to gdt@gloucestertimes.com or faxed to 978-282-4397. Please include a contact person’s name and telephone number and send at least two weeks prior to the event. The Times will do its best to run the announcement at least once prior to the event. Due to the volume of goings on listings received by the paper, listings are alternated once they run and the same listings are not printed every day.

GHS Scholarship

The Gloucester High School Scholarship Bulletin is now available at: www.gloucesterschools.com — under Documents on the main page of the GHS section. Unless otherwise indicated, all scholarships must be in the main office by 10 a.m. on Monday, April 1. Scholarships that are to be mailed must be postmarked no later than Saturday, March 30. Each requires a separate letter of application and a separate financial statement form. Forms are available in the Main Office.

Digital marketing

Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Wicked Local Media Solutions to hold a “brown bag” lunch series of workshops and seminars to bring local business up to the speed of the digital marketing age. The first workshop kicks-off at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 26, from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at the Chamber conference room, 33 Commercial St., Gloucester. Pack a lunch and join us to learn what Facebook, Twitter an optimized website and other social media can do for your business. Space is limited to 20 participants per session, so register early to ensure your spot for this complimentary event. Call Gregory Walsh at 978-283-1601.

SeniorCare breakfast

SeniorCare’s 39th Meals on Wheels Valentine breakfast fundraiser will take place Thursday, Feb. 14, 7 to 9:30 a.m., at the Gloucester House restaurant. Tickets are $10, $8 for seniors, and may be purchased at the door or by calling 978-281-1750.
