Gloucester Goings On

Events listed here are open to the public and sponsored by nonprofit groups unless otherwise noted. Please include a contact person’s name and telephone number and send at least two weeks prior to the event. The Times will do its best to run the announcement at least once prior to the event. GHS cheerleader mini camp

The Gloucester High School cheerleader mini camp will take place Feb. 19-21, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost is $80 per child. Call Beth Costanzo at 978-491-0747.

Trivia games

The Capt. Lester S. Wass American Legion, Post 3, will host afternoon trivia games Sunday, March 24, at 2 p.m. Members and guests are invited. Snacks, competition and prizes. Those interested in doing this on a regular basis should call 978-283-9710 after 3 p.m.

Mosquito forum

The Cape Ann Emergency Planning Team and Boards of Health will present “Cape Ann Mosquito Forum — Health Risks and Control” on Thursday, March 7, 6 to 8 p.m., at Cruiseport Gloucester, lower level, 6 Rowe Square. Free parking is available. There is no fee and preregistration is not required.

Mardi Gras concert postponed

The Mardi Gras concert featuring Grammy winner Charlie Neville and Henri Smith has been postponed. The concert has been rescheduled for Saturday, April 6.

Foxwoods rescheduled

The COA bus tour to Foxwoods Casino has been rescheduled for Monday, Feb. 18. A few seats are available on the bus. If you signed up for original trip, your reservation will be recognized first. The motorcoach leaves the Rose Baker Senior Center at 6 a.m. for morning bingo at the Casino, and departs to return at 5 p.m. There will be a movie and bingo on the bus. Call 978-281-9765; $26 per person, including meal voucher, is due with reservation.
