Tidepool Explorers at Halibut Point, 1 — 2 p.m. Some of the best tide pools in New England, with an interpreter to guide you through them. Inter-tidal exploration, creatures inhabiting special environment. Meet at the Visitors Center in the park. All ages. Rain or shine; pouring rain cancels.

Friday, Aug. 2

Sunday, Aug. 4

‘Ceremonial Time: Fifteen Thousand Years of Fifty Acres,’ Halibut State Park, 6 — 7 p.m. A “psychological” history and “spirit” of a place gathered via history, anthropology, and geology, with interpreter guide. Meet at the Visitors Center. All ages. Rain or shine, pouring rain cancels.

First Congregational Church of Rockport free vacation bible school, 9 a.m. to noon, “Treasure Cove!” Preschool-6th grade welcome. Please arrive by 8:30 a.m. to register your child.

Tuesday, Aug. 6

Artist demonstration: Paul Ciaramitaro — How To Draw Anything, 7 p.m., Rockport Art Association, 12 Main St. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. $5, free for members. 978-546-6604. www.rockportartassn.org.
