Thursday, Feb. 28

Rockin’ Readers, 3:30 to 4 p.m., Manchester Public Library. Grades four and five. Topic: “The Starry River of the Sky” by Grace Lin.

Trained IRS volunteer counselors available for tax advice, 1:15 to 4 p.m., Manchester COA offices. Appointments every ½ hour. Seniors, bring copies of their previous year’s federal and state tax returns, any forms including W-2s and other relevant material showing income for the year. Friday, March 1

Teen Friday Night Feast, 5 to 6:30 p.m., Manchester Public Library. Cook up your own kebab with cookbook author Anna Tourkakis. Grades 6-12 welcome. Space limited. To register, call 978-526-7711 ASAP.

Book Discussion for Manchester Community Reads, 7 p.m. Manchester Public Library, “Blood, Bones, and Butter; the Inadvertent Education of a Reluctant Chef” by Gabrielle Hamilton. Copies available at circulation desk.

Friday, March 8

Manchester COA van goes to Peabody and Danvers Malls, Senior van pick up 9:30 a.m. Choose between North Shore Mall or Liberty Tree Mall; $3 donation requested. To reserve seat, call the C.O.A. Office at 526-7500.

Saturday, March 9

Friends of the Library book donation drop-off day, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Books, paperbacks, DVD’s, VHS’s and CD’s in good condition. Members of the Friends will be on hand to help carry them inside. Please, no encyclopedias, magazines, or condensed books.

“Write Time” — a writing workshop for seniors meets, 1 to 2:30 p.m.,Manchester Community Center. Catherine F. Robertson, local author of “Life in Violet” leads the class.
