Democratic Committee meeting
The Rockport Democratic Town Committee will meet at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, in the Brenner Room of the Rockport Public Library. All Democrats registered in the town of Rockport are welcome. For more information call Suellen at 978-546-3754.
Annual art show
The Rockport Public Schools annual K-12 Art Show at the Rockport Art Association will take place March 6-10. An opening reception will be held Thursday, March 7, 6:30 to 8 p.m. Gallery hours are Wednesday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.
Ballroom Blitz, a dance performance showcasing fifth-graders as well as Rockport High School dancers and cheerleaders, will take place Friday, March 8, 7 p.m., in the RHS gymnasium. In case of snow, the event will take place Sunday, March 10, at 1 p.m. Tickets available at the door: $5 for adults, $2 for students. Program is funded by the Rockport Education Foundation.
Old Sloop Coffeehouse
Old Sloop Coffeehouse will present two concerts on the same weekend at First Congregational Church of Rockport, 12 School St. On Friday, March 8, 7:30 p.m., Gordon Bok will perform; and on Saturday, March 9, 10:30 a.m., Grammy Award-winning children’s musicians Debbie and Friends will perform. Tickets for both concerts may be purchased online at www.oldsloopcoffeehouse.org, at Gloucester Music, or at Toad Hall Bookstore in Rockport. Advance tickets for the Gordon Bok concert are $10; at the door: $12 for adults, $7 for those 65 and older, $5 for those younger than 18, $24 per family. Tickets for the Debbie and Friends concert are $8.
